What is Hearthstone at Murrayhill?
We are a retirement community offering three progressive levels of living:- Independent Living provides residents with amenities such as three delicious meals a day, weekly housekeeping services, transportation to scheduled medical appointments, a full schedule of activities, and caregiving services as needed on an interim basis.
- Assisted Living provides expanded amenities such as complete laundry services and personalized caregiving assistance.
- Memory Care provides residents with a secure environment designed and staffed to care for residents who have special needs due to advanced dementia.
Do you have buy-in fees or long-term leases?
Absolutely not. Private apartments are rented on a simple month-to-month basis.
Is Hearthstone able to accommodate couples where only one requires memory care?
This is one of the many distinctives offered by Hearthstone at Murrayhill. Couples can continue to live together in the Independent or Assisted Living wings as determined by the care needs of the resident needing assistance.
Does Hearthstone at Murrayhill support residents who want to “age in place”?
It is Hearthstone’s goal to support a resident’s choice to remain in his or her living environment to the end of their lives. When needed, we coordinate with hospice services to provide end-of-life support to our residents. In some situations, we are not able to meet every resident’s care needs. Do I furnish my own apartment?
Yes. While Hearthstone supplies certain kitchenette appliances, each resident personalizes their apartment with their own furniture and belongings – to feel at home.

What about medications?
Hearthstone at Murrayhill’s medication aides are specially trained to administer prescription and non-prescription medications. We have a pharmacy that services our community, but residents may choose to use another pharmacy.
Who draws up the Care/Service Plans for those in Assisted Living?
Hearthstone’s Service Planning Team develops the individualized care/service plan for each resident. This team consists of the resident or legal representative, the resident’s family, a licensed nurse, and a community administrator.
What about Medicaid?
Hearthstone at Murrayhill is a private pay community that does not accept Medicaid. If a resident becomes eligible for Medicaid, our staff will refer families to placement services that can assist the resident in relocating to a new home.

Hearthstone at Murrayhill staff are selected based on their their ability and commitment to serve residents with love, respect, and integrity. A full-time registered nurse is on staff during the week (and on-call other times) to assess resident health needs. We provide 24-hour medication and caregiving services. Full-time employees receive generous benefits that greatly enhance their commitment to the Hearthstone community.
Are emergency services available?
Every resident in Independent and Assisted Living is supplied with a personal wireless LifeLine bracelet or necklace, ensuring that help is available at the press of a button any time day or night. We have RNs working during the normal work week, and medication aides and caregivers working around-the-clock. Of course, our staff is trained to access 911 as needed.

Can Hearthstone accommodate special diets?
Nutritional, restaurant-style meals are available to residents throughout the day. If a resident’s physician or other licensed health care professional orders a modified special diet to treat a medical condition, we may be able to meet those needs. However, medically-complex diets are not offered at Hearthstone.
